What is TRP Soothe?

TRP Soothe is a nutritional supplement made by Science Natural Supplements.

As part of a 2020 marketing campaign, TRP Soothe is marketed online through a sales page that mentions a “wasabi secret.” TRP Soothe purportedly uses that wasabi secret to eliminate pain naturally.

Science Natural Supplements markets TRP Soothe to people who want to reduce pain without relying on drugs. If you want a natural solution to pain without harmful side effects or addiction issues, then TRP Soothe may be able to help – at least according to Science Natural Supplements.

There are thousands of supplements available today that claim to reduce pain naturally – and most of them don’t work. Is TRP Soothe an effective solution? Does it actually relieve pain? Let’s take a closer look at how TRP Soothe works and the story behind the formula.

The Story Behind TRP Soothe

Science Natural Supplements markets TRP Soothe online through a sales page mentioning a “wasabi secret.”

A man named Daniel Price experienced severe pain and mobility issues. The pain was so severe that he was unable to walk his granddaughter down the aisle at her wedding.

Frustrated by his pain, Daniel “swore” he was going to “find a way to fight back” against his pain. After wasting “hours on expensive doctor’s office visits”, X-rays, MRIs, and other modern medicine, Daniel turned to the natural supplement space for help.

To make a long story short, Daniel met a man named Dr. Zane Sterling, who works for Science Natural Supplements. Dr. Sterling told Daniel about a way to naturally reduce pain and provide “lasting relief.”

How Does TRP Soothe Work?

TRP Soothe is based on the idea of “the wasabi receptor.” Your body has a pain receptor that Dr. Zane Sterling calls the wasabi receptor. When you get a pain trigger, your body activates the wasabi receptor, and you feel pain.

According to Dr. Sterling, your wasabi receptor controls pain throughout your body. By targeting this wasabi receptor, you can purportedly eliminate pain throughout your body.

The technical name of the wasabi receptor is TRPA1, pronounced like Trip-A1. Multiple studies have connected this receptor to pain symptoms. Japanese researchers have studied the receptor particularly closely, which is why Dr. Sterling calls it the wasabi receptor.

With that in mind, TRP Soothe claims to “disable” your TRPA1 receptor, making it impossible to feel pain. Here’s how Science Natural Supplements explains it:

“The Substance Was Called 1,8-Cineole…And It’s One Of The Rare Natural Products… PROVEN To “Disable” Human TRPA1! During this study, these researchers found that 1,8-Cineole blocks the actions of TRPA1. Basically, once 1,8-Cineole works its way into the cells where TRPA1 is located…It occupies the “sensor” so that nothing else can be picked up.”

Dr. Sterling compares the 1,8-Cineole to like a friend saving your seat at the movie theater: the natural substance sits in the receptor for as long as needed, preventing the receptor from triggering pain.

TRP Soothe claims to use 1,8-Cineole to flip your wasabi switch and deactivate your TRPA1 receptor.

Science Natural Supplements claims you will feel near-instant pain relief after taking TRP Soothe. You will also experience no side effects, grogginess, or other complications. Within 24 hours of taking your first capsules, you should experience significant pain relief – and you will continue experiencing long-term pain relief for every day you continue taking the capsules:

“I didn’t expect them to work so fast! That very next morning I could tell the pain in my back was “different”…Not completely gone… I wasn’t expecting miracles…But the sharp, stabbing agony had been replaced by something way more bearable…And unlike the pain drugs my doctor gave me…My head felt clear…”

All of this sounds good. But let’s take a closer look at the ingredients to determine if TRP Soothe is really a long-term pain relief formula.

TRP Soothe Ingredients

Science Natural Supplements discloses the full list of ingredients and dosages in TRP Soothe upfront, making it easy to compare the supplement to competing products and to scientific evidence. We know the formula contains 90mg to 500mg of all active ingredients.

The full list of ingredients in TRP Soothe includes:

  • 500mg of sage leaf extract
  • 500mg of ginger root extract
  • 380mg of rosemary leaf extract
  • 300mg of grape seed extract
  • 150mg of sweet wormwood leaf extract
  • 100mg of galangal root
  • 90mg of peppermint oil extract

All ingredients are packaged into a gelatin capsule with brown rice flour and silicon dioxide used as binders, fillers, and preservatives.

Here’s how Science Natural Supplements explains the benefits of each ingredient:

Sage: TRP Soothe contains sage, which contains 1,8-Cineole – the plant compound linked above that purportedly blocks pain receptors. Science Natural Supplements claims to use “Dalmatian sage” that is “highly effective” for blocking TRPA1, flicking the wasabi switch, and stopping pain.

Ginger: Science Natural Supplements contains ginger for its “pain-relieving potential”, claiming that the formula is “significantly effective at reducing pain.” Ginger has been used for centuries for general health and wellness, and some studies show ginger could reduce swelling and pain.

Rosemary: Science Natural Supplements claims rosemary “can help to alleviate joint pain” by activating TRPA1 receptors – similar to sage.

Sweet Wormwood: Sweet wormwood is an herb from Asia that can purportedly help with painful, swollen joints and joint tenderness, among other pain symptoms.

Galangal: Described as a “weird cousin” of ginger, galangal has similar pain relieving potential, according to Science Natural Supplements.

Peppermint Oil Extract: Science Natural Supplements describes their peppermint oil as “time released” oil that is “highly-effective in helping to treat stomach pain,” according to a 2004 study.

Grape Seed Extract: TRP Soothe contains grape seed extract, which is rich with antioxidants that could support inflammation throughout the body, although Science Natural Supplements does not specifically explain why it was added to the formula.

Scientific Evidence for TRP Soothe

Science Natural Supplements has not run any clinical trials on TRP Soothe, nor have they studied the effects of their formula on humans or animals.

However, the company cites 16 studies performed on individual ingredients within TRP Soothe. We’ll analyze that research below to determine if TRP Soothe really provides long-lasting pain relief – or if it’s another over-hyped natural supplement with few major benefits.

Science Natural Supplements cites this 2001 study as proof that ginger extract can relieve pain. In that study, researchers gave patients ginger extract or a placebo twice daily. Researchers concluded that the ginger extract had a statistically significant effect at reducing symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. Other studies have connected ginger to improved symptoms of muscular discomfort and rheumatoid arthritis. As this 1992 study explained, ginger was used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Tibb medicine systems to support inflammation and rheumatism, among other conditions. Other studies have found that ginger acts as a hypoalgesic agent with “a better safety profile than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.”

The company also cites this 2019 study on rosemary. Researchers described rosemary as having antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antitumor effects. They claimed it was a medicinal plant that could be equivalent to available medicines when used in certain ways.

TRP Soothe contains peppermint oil, a popular ingredient in many arthritis creams. As this 2004 study explained, adding menthol to arthritis cream “improves results.”

TRP Soothe contains an ingredient called sweet wormwood – something we don’t see in many other pain supplements. As this 2016 study explained, sweet wormwood (also known by its scientific name Artemisia annua) is a “medicinal plant” linked with pain relieving benefits. In a 12 week study, sweet wormwood performed better than a placebo at improving symptoms of pain, stiffness, and functional limitation in participants with osteoarthritis. Participants took 150mg to 300mg of sweet wormwood extract per day (there’s 150mg of sweet wormwood extract in each serving of TRP Soothe). This 2017 study performed by researchers in China found similar effects after 12 to 48 weeks of treatment with sweet wormwood.

Researchers have extensively studied the transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1), a channel involved in pain reception in the body. Certain substances activate or antagonize this receptor. By targeting this receptor, it’s possible to control pain. In this 2019 study published in Cell, researchers found that scorpion toxin could activate the receptor and reduce pain. However, this scorpion toxin is not present in TRP Soothe.

Ultimately, the ingredients in TRP Soothe could activate TRPA1 and reduce pain. The supplement seems to use good dosages of multiple pain-relieving natural substances.
