What is Nervogen Pro?

Nervogen Pro is a diabetes supplement sold online through Nervogen.com. By taking two capsules of Nervogen Pro per day, you can purportedly enjoy a natural, inexpensive solution to diabetic nerve pain.

Millions of Americans suffer from diabetes. Millions more are considered pre-diabetic. Many people with diabetes experience diabetic nerve pain. It’s an uncomfortable tingling or ‘pins and needles’ sensation in your arms and legs.

When left untreated over time, diabetic nerve pain can lead to amputation. For most diabetics treating their condition with medication, nerve pain is simply uncomfortable.

Nervogen Pro claims to target this problem using herbal extracts like marshmallow root and poppy seeds.

The Story Behind Nervogen Pro

Nervogen Pro is marketed online through Nervogen.com with a dramatic story. In a video, a 57-year old diabetic named Kevin Miller describes how he accidentally stabbed his wife while searching for a solution to his diabetic nerve pain.

Kevin is a medicinal chemist at a major University near Boston, Massachusetts. Kevin suffered from diabetic nerve pain for 11 years.

Eventually, Kevin grew frustrated with his condition. He decided to take matters into his own hands. Frustrated with the tingling sensation, Kevin grabbed an electric saw and attempted to cut off his own arm.

Kevin’s wife tried to stop him from cutting off his arm. He fought back against his wife, and eventually cut her face with the electric saw.

“She desperately tried to fight me for the electric saw, and a life or death tug of war started. I pushed her in a fit of range and cut her beautiful right cheek. I will never forget the look of fear and disappointment in her eyes. All I wanted was to stop the horrid pain at any cost – even if that meant cutting my own leg.”

Over the 1-hour video, Kevin describes his journey to a solution to diabetic nerve pain. Kevin used his experience as a medicinal chemist to research different herbs and extracts. He combined those herbs in the right dosages, tested the herbs for their safety and efficacy, and now sells the combination online in the form of Nervogen Pro.

Here’s how Kevin describes the miraculous power of his Nervogen Pro formula:

“This simple method is so amazing that not only did it send shockwaves across the medical establishment, but top doctors see it as a miraculous key that can release your nerves from the shackles they’ve been stuck in for so long, significantly decreasing your risk of lifelong deafening pain and even paralysis.”

Let’s take a closer look at how Nervogen Pro claims to target diabetic nerve pain – and what types of ingredients Kevin uses to provide those benefits.

How Does Nervogen Pro Work?

The makers of Nervogen Pro claim your diabetic neuropathy (nerve pain) is unrelated to genetics, obesity, or other conditions.

Instead, they claim the condition is linked to a muscle that wraps around your spine. Because that muscle wraps around your spine, the action of that muscle affects all corners of your body. When that muscle is damaged, it leads to a loss of feeling in your hands, feet, and other extremities.

When that muscle overreacts, it “suffocates” your nerves, according to the Nervogen website, causing issues throughout your body.

With that in mind, Nervogen claims to use herbal extracts to target that muscle. By relaxing that muscle, Nervogen can relieve pressure on the spine, solving diabetic nerve pain throughout your body. Within weeks of taking Nervogen, you can purportedly be free of diabetic neuropathy.

Nervogen Pro Ingredients

The makers of Nervogen Pro make big claims about the effectiveness of the formula, claiming it could solve diabetic neuropathy in a short period of time.

That’s why we’re surprised by how little is in the supplement. The company discloses the full list of ingredients upfront, but the dosages seem much too small to achieve any noticeable benefits. The formula contains a fraction of the dose of other herbal extract supplements. The ingredients in Nervogen Pro are found at dosages of just 45mg to 145mg, which is much smaller than the dose used in other studies to date.

The company also does little to explain how each ingredient works. The company vaguely mentions that the ingredients target the muscle wrapping around your spine, for example, but it’s unclear how they specifically target neuropathy (nerve pain).

In any case, here is the full list of ingredients in Nervogen Pro:

  • 145mg of passion flower
  • 110mg of marshmallow root extract
  • 100mg of corydalis
  • 50mg of prickly pear
  • 45mg of California poppy seed

The active ingredients are packaged into a vegetable capsules with magnesium stearate as a filler to hold the formula together.

Scientific Evidence for Nervogen Pro

Kevin Miller and the Nervogen Pro team have not published any clinical trials or scientific studies proving the supplement works as advertised. As far as we can tell, the company has not tested their formula on any animals or humans to verify its effects on diabetic neuropathy.

However, Kevin has an excuse for the lack of scientific evidence. Kevin claims he and his team performed a trial but were unable to publish it:

“Now here comes the sickening part. We tried to get our study published. We had imagined that everyone would jump for joy at the chance of getting their name on a neuropathy solution. But that was not the case. The neuropathic industry is forecasted to reach $9.8 billion between 2020 and 2027. Why would they want one simple powerful remedy on the market that does what a sack of pharmaceutical products can’t.”

Obviously, we can’t find any evidence this claim is true. Even if this was true, it doesn’t stop Kevin from publishing his study online at his own website.

There’s no evidence that Nervogen Pro has any positive effects, although we’ll review some of the scientific evidence supporting the ingredients in Nervogen Pro.

The biggest ingredient in Nervogen Pro is passion flower extract. The formula contains 145mg of passion flower extract. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, passion flower is commonly used for anxiety, with people taking up to 800mg of passion flower extract per day for general anxiety.

In this 2016 study, researchers specifically analyzed the effects of passion flower on diabetic neuropathy. Researchers gave passion flower extract to rats and found that passion flower extract “might be useful for treating neuropathic pain.” Rats received a dose of 200mg to 600mg of passion flower extract per kg.

Many sleep aids contain passion flower extract. In this 2017 study, researchers tested the effects of passion flower extract on rats, finding that a dose of 500mg per kg helped the rats fall asleep and enjoy a more restful sleep.

The dosage in Nervogen Pro is much lower than the dose found in other passion flower supplements or used in passion flower studies. The studies on rats, for example, used a dose of 500mg to 600mg per kg. Although passion flower seems to work by positively impacting GABA, the dose of passion flower in Nervogen Pro has not been proven to work in any large scale studies on humans.

Nervogen Pro also contains marshmallow extract, corydalis, prickly pear, and California poppy for neuropathy. We can find few studies proving these ingredients help with neuropathy in humans at the listed dosages.

This 2016 study found that corydalis extracts were widely used to treat pain and inflammation, including the pain caused by neuropathy. Researchers analyzed evidence on corydalis and found that it helped with neuropathic pain by antagonizing dopamine and D2 receptors. Based on this evidence, researchers concluded that certain corydalis extracts “might be a candidate for alternative pain treatment.”

That sounds good for corydalis – although most studies use a dose of 20mg to 500mg per kg, a significantly higher dose than what we see in Nervogen Pro.

According to this 2018 study published in the Iranian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences, some herbal extracts have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and neuroprotective effects that could affect diabetic nerve pain – although they’re different herbal extracts and dosages than what we see in Nervogen Pro.

Making things look worse for Nervogen Pro is that the supplement’s “References” page only lists three studies. One study examined the effects of neuropathy on rats, another study showed that corydalis was ineffective at doses of 10mg per kg, and the third cited study analyzes fear and anxiety – not herbal extracts.

Overall, there’s limited research any of the ingredients or dosages in Nervogen Pro could significantly improve symptoms of neuropathy, reduce diabetic nerve pain, or provide other benefits to diabetics struggling with nerve pain.

Nervogen Pro Pricing

Nervogen Pro is priced at around $70 per bottle, although you can get a lower price by ordering multiple bottles at once. Here’s how pricing breaks down:

  • 1 Bottle: $69
  • 3 Bottles: $177
  • 6 Bottles: $294

All prices include free shipping to the United States. Each bottle contains 60 capsules (30 servings) of Nervogen Pro.

At $50 to $70 per bottle, Nervogen Pro is relatively expensive compared to other diabetic nerve pain supplements. However, Kevin claims he’s not making any profit on sales of the supplement: he’s selling the supplement out of the goodness of his heart because he wants to help people target their life-altering neuropathy.

Nervogen Pro Refund Policy

Nervogen Pro comes with a 60 day money back guarantee.

If Nervogen Pro does not solve your diabetic neuropathy within 60 days of taking it, then you are entitled to a refund. Contact the company to initiate the refund process, then ship the bottle (even if it’s empty) back to the company to complete the refund process.

Who’s Behind Nervogen Pro?

The makers of Nervogen Pro provide little information about themselves online, including the manufacturing location, ingredient sources, or other information you might want to know about a supplement before you buy.

We can find no evidence that a 57-year old chemist named Kevin Miller from Massachusetts was involved in the formulation of Nervogen Pro, and Kevin’s dramatic story seems to have been invented just to sell the supplement.

You can contact the makers of Nervogen Pro via the following:

Final Word

Nervogen Pro is an herbal extract supplement that uses natural ingredients to target diabetic nerve pain – also known as neuropathy.

Although Nervogen Pro claims to target neuropathy quickly, there’s little evidence the supplement can help diabetics with nerve pain. The supplement contains some ingredients linked to neuropathy relief in small studies, although the dosages seem much too small to impact your body in any significant way.

Nevertheless, Nervogen Pro is backed by a 60 day refund policy. You can request a complete refund within 60 days with no questions asked. If Nervogen Pro does not relieve tingling, pins and needles, and diabetic nerve pain within 60 days, then you are entitled to a complete refund.
