What is Clear Sound 911?

Clear Sound 911 is a nutritional supplement made by PhytAge Laboratories. Available exclusively online through PhytAgeLaboratories.com, the supplement claims to restore hearing using natural ingredients.

Typically, you need surgery, therapy, or corrective equipment to restore hearing. Clear Sound 911, however, claims to restore hearing with just one capsule per day. That capsule contains herbal extracts, vitamins, and minerals that help regrow hairs within your ear, helping restore hearing function.

Obviously, we’re skeptical Clear Sound 911 works as advertised. PhytAge Laboratories has launched other supplements with dubious marketing claims and zero scientific evidence, including a “Tinnitus 911” supplement that claimed to relieve tinnitus and a “Testo 911” formula that purportedly boosts testosterone.

One customer cited online claims he thought he was “going to be deaf for the rest of my life” until he took Clear Sound 911.

Can Clear Sound 911 really restore your hearing? Let’s take a closer look at how Clear Sound 911 claims to work.

How Does Clear Sound 911 Work?

PhytAge Laboratories claims that many hearing loss problems are reversible. You don’t need surgery, therapy, or corrective equipment to restore your hearing problem: you just need a supplement.

PhytAge Laboratories claims the active ingredients in Clear Sound 911 travel through the bloodstream and arrive at the brain. After arriving in the brain, the ingredients somehow begin “cleansing the auditory nerves” and “repair the inner ear hairs”.

Clear Sound 911 contains ingredients like vitamins B1, B2, B5, and B6. It also contains calcium and zinc. The ingredient label also lists dozens of plant and herbal extracts, including popular adaptogenic (stress relieving) herbal extracts like Rhodiola and ashwagandha.

By taking one capsule of Clear Sound 911 daily, you can purportedly enjoy the following benefits:

  • Remove a toxic chemical in the brain linked to hearing loss
  • Repair the damage caused by that chemical
  • Help your hearing go back to normal
  • Give your ears the nutrients they need to grow hairs and repair themselves
  • Fight age-related hearing loss (ARHL)
  • Soothe auditory inflammation

Clear Sound 911 even claims their formula can protect you from future brain disorders and restore hearing for “decades”.

Clear Sound 911 is marketed specifically towards older adults. The supplement’s sales page features images of older adults, for example, who appear to have happily restored their hearing. Many older adults experience hearing loss as they get older, and Clear Sound 911 could help restore hearing – at least that’s the claim.

The Story Behind Clear Sound 911

As part of a 2020 marketing campaign, PhytAge Laboratories is highlighting the story of a man named Jerry Robison.

Jerry is a 47-year old man who claims to have used the ingredients in Clear Sound 911 to restore his hearing within “weeks”.

In a testimonial on ClearSound911.com, Jerry claims to have reversed advanced hearing loss using Clear Sound 911. That man claims he received lab test results that told him he was going to be deaf for the rest of his life – but he “noticed improvement in my hearing in only a few short weeks” by taking Clear Sound 911.

“I was going to be deaf for the rest of my life… But I’m relieved to share with you…I didn’t find the solution…The solution found me. It was all thanks to a man we ran across in Channing, Michigan and a small encrypted hard drive he handed to me as a gift. Inside this encrypted hard drive were secrets so powerful…I noticed improvement in my hearing in only a few short weeks.”

Jerry adds that his “life is normal again” after taking the “natural and safe formula”. He fixed his hearing without hearing aids, expensive surgeries, or “dangerous prescriptions”.

Jerry makes vague claims about hearing loss being linked to “the toxins in your brain”. By removing these toxins, you can purportedly “end your hearing problems for good”. Jerry does not claim to have any medical or nutritional experience – he’s just an ordinary guy who claims to have discovered a cure for deafness.

As far as we can tell, Jerry is not a real person – and his story is entirely fictitious. There’s no evidence that anyone has used Clear Sound 911 to fix deafness, restore advanced hearing problems, or enjoy other ear health benefits.

Clear Sound 911 Ingredients

Oddly, PhytAge Laboratories does not disclose all dosage information in the formula. The company discloses the dosage of vitamins and minerals in Clear Sound 911. However, they do not disclose the dosage of any of the plant or herbal extracts in the formula.

Typically, supplement companies with strong dosages want to advertise those strong dosages. When a supplement company does not disclose its dosages, we assume the supplement is much weaker than its competition.

Because of the lack of dosage information in the proprietary blend, we assume Clear Sound 911 contains mostly vitamins and minerals – not herbal extracts. Clear Sound 911 may contain trace amounts of the listed herbal extracts, but it’s unlikely to contain enough to significantly impact the body in any way.

Here’s how PhytAge Laboratories justifies its ingredients in Clear Sound 911:

Vitamin B1: Clear Sound 911 contains vitamin B1 because some people deficient in vitamin B1 develop Wernicke encephalopathy, which is linked with hearing loss.

Vitamin B3: Also known as niacin, vitamin B3 can purportedly “may help reduce ARHL [age-related hearing loss] in the elderly”, according to PhytAge Laboratories.

Biotin: Biotin deficiency is linked with thinning hair and other issues. There’s limited evidence biotin deficiency can cause hearing loss, although it’s a crucial vitamin for overall health and wellness.

Pantothenic Acid: Also known as vitamin B5, pantothenic acid is not linked to hearing loss, ear healing, or other benefits, although it’s a critical vitamin for overall health and wellness.

Zinc: Clear Sound 911 also contains more than your daily recommended dose of zinc. There’s some evidence that zinc supplementation can help with hearing loss, and zinc is a crucial mineral for overall body function nonetheless.

Proprietary Herbal Formula: Clear Sound 911 contains a proprietary blend with Rhodiola, lutein, ashwagandha, chamomile, GABA, lemon balm, skullcap, hawthorn, Bacopa monnieri, magnolia, passion flower, valerian, L-theanine, oat straw, Mucuna pruriens, St. John’s Wort (incorrectly labeled as “St. John’s Wart” on the label), hops, and Griffonia simplicifolia. Although this is an impressive range of adaptogenic herbs, Clear Sound 911 does not contain a significant dosage of any listed ingredients.

Clear Sound 911 does not contain significant amounts of any other listed ingredients. However, the formula contains 88% to 500% of your daily recommended value of all of the ingredients above.

Overall, the ingredients in Clear Sound 911 are similar to what you find in any multivitamin. You can find B vitamins and zinc in any $10 multivitamin formula in similar dosages – so it’s unclear why Clear Sound 911 claims to significantly impact hearing.

Scientific Evidence for Clear Sound 911

PhytAge Laboratories has not conducted any human or animal trials on its formula. The company has not run any tests verifying any of their advertised claims.

Instead, PhytAge Laboratories cites 10 studies on the individual ingredients in Clear Sound 911, including studies linking B vitamins, zinc, and other listed ingredients to hearing loss. We’ll summarize that research below, then determine if Clear Sound 911 works as advertised to restore hearing.

First, PhytAge Laboratories cites this study on vitamin B1 and hearing loss. The 2015 study showed that thiamine (also known as vitamin B1) was linked to energy production and Wernicke encephalopathy (WE), which could lead to hearing loss. When patients are deficient in vitamin B1, it prevents vitamin B1 from being transported into inner ear tissues, potentially causing hearing loss.

There’s some evidence zinc is linked with tinnitus – but not hearing loss. In this 2019 study, researchers found a connection between zinc and tinnitus. 20 patients with tinnitus took zinc supplements for 2 months, and 17 patients (85%) showed significant improvements in tinnitus test scores afterwards. However, patients did not show a significant improvement in hearing thresholds or speech reception thresholds. Zinc was particularly effective in younger patients.

PhytAge Laboratories cites this 2019 study analyzing B vitamin deficiency and age-related hearing loss. Researchers analyzed 4742 subjects older than age 65. After analyzing their dietary habits based on survey results, researchers concluded that older adults with age-related hearing loss (ARHL) could benefit from getting more riboflavin, niacin, and retinol. Clear Sound 911 contains niacin – but it does not contain riboflavin or retinol.

Clear Sound 911 does not contain a significant amount of calcium (just 1% of your daily value), although PhytAge Laboratories cites this 2012 study published in Cell Communication and Signaling that found a connection between calcium and sensory hair cells in your ear. Your body needs calcium to grow its sensory hair cells in the ear. That’s good – although the 1% DV dosage of calcium in Clear Sound 911 is unlikely to have a significant effect on hearing.

Overall, your body needs vitamins and minerals to support crucial body functions – including hearing. Most of us get sufficient vitamins and minerals through our diet or a multivitamin. Clear Sound 911 contains high levels of B vitamins and zinc – but not other ingredients. There’s no evidence Clear Sound 911 is more effective than a multivitamin for hearing loss, and there’s certainly no evidence it’s worth $40 to $70 per bottle.

About PhytAge Laboratories

PhytAge Laboratories is a nutritional supplement and skin care company based in Texas, although the company maintains a mailing address in New York City and a returns address in Colorado.

Overall, PhytAge Laboratories is known for making low-quality, overpriced supplements, then marketing the supplements online with unproven and bizarre claims. Other PhytAge Laboratories supplements include Eagle Eye 911 (which purportedly boosts vision), Testo 911 (which claims to support testosterone), and Urgent Cell Repair (which vaguely claims to repair cells).

Final Word

Clear Sound 911 is a multivitamin formula marketed as a way to repair ear health and fix advanced hearing problems. By taking Clear Sound 911 daily, you can purportedly restore hearing – even if you’re an older adult suffering advanced hearing loss or deafness.

Overall, there’s no evidence Clear Sound 911 works as advertised to significantly impact hearing loss or ear health in any way. It’s possible the B vitamins and zinc in Clear Sound 911 could support ear health – although most people already get enough of these ingredients through their diet or a multivitamin.

Now some may argue that because of all of these serious issues, there’s no reason to buy Clear Sound 911. However, most know an ounce of prevention can be worth a pound of cure. And in order to properly detoxify and cleanse the body of toxic food debris and metabolic byproducts, the body must be supplied with an efficient environment that can safely and effectively eliminate these toxins that cause all kinds of bodily harm, including loss of hearing.
